Meritorious O level career counselling made it easier for students to choose their subject!

We see a lot of glamorous events happening here and there every single day with all the bigwigs of the industry in attendance but I wonder no education related event happens that frequent!

BUT, breaking the chain, Meritorious came up with this initiative of conducting a seminar for children and parents both in order to encourage them for a discussion over which and how to select a subject for their O and A level programs.

a Lot of questions came under discussion like how at an early stage children will be able to take a decision and should they take the decision themselves or should rely on their teachers and parents to take the decision? Also are children these days at this stage smart enough to choose whatever they want or they should just go with their parent’s choice?

There were 2 school of thoughts in the discussion out of which one was in support of parents taking the decision and the other was that children should take their decisions themselves as they are smart enough to do so!

After listening to all the concerns parents had it felt great to be a part of such an event where parents and teachers are brought on the same panel for discussing these issues which are mostly ignored by other schools leaving what a child thinks and wants to be behind!

Sharing a bit of my experience, my parents never forced me in choosing a field and left it totally on me! Choosing Humanities resulted in a lot of backlash from my family but i kept on studying and now working effortlessly in the field of my choice. It’s actually not about the choice of parents or teacher, its actually about talking out things together to sort what a child actually wants. Pressuring him or her under your decision is not the right thing to do!

These type of events are the need of time and education both and serve as an addition to your knowledge.
